Actress Denise Richards acknowledged to shock jock Howard Stern that she had a lesbian affair.

During an appearance this week to promote her 288-page memoir The Real Girl Next Door on Stern's Sirius Satellite radio show, Richards, who shares custody of two daughters with ex-husband Charlie Sheen and recently adopted a third, told her host that the other woman was famous.

“You would know who she is,” Richards said after describing the woman as “beautiful” and a “girly girl.”

“Why did you experiment with a woman?” Stern asked.

“I was just curious,” Richards answered. “We were curious. We wanted to see.”

“She was more the aggressor,” Stern said. “You were the girl, she was the guy.”

“I guess, if you put it that way,” Richards responded with a laugh. (Video of the exchange is embedded in the right panel of this page.)

Richards is best known for her role in the 1998 film Wild Things, which included a racy lesbian sex scene between herself and Neve Campbell in a swimming pool. In 2008, Richards asserted that being gay wasn't in her DNA: “No, I'd never do that – I love men!”
