Cory Monteith, who plays Finn Hudson on
the Fox musical-comedy Glee, will release a video for Avan
Jogia's pro-gay campaign on Friday, July 1.
The 29-year-old actor's video for
Jogia's Straight But Not Narrow campaign is being released tomorrow,
the group said in a tweet to its more than 7,000 followers.
“So excited to release Cory
Monteith's PSA tomorrow. It is also Canada day and the release of
Monte Carlo. Big day for Cory,” the group messaged,
referring to the actor's Canadian roots and cameo appearance in the
romantic comedy Monte Carlo,
which opens on Friday.
Monteith is the highest-profile
celebrity yet to record a video for the group.
In the campaign's inaugural video,
Jogia, who plays Ben Stark on cabler Syfy's Battlestar Galactica
spinoff Caprica and Beck Oliver on the Nickelodeon teen sitcom
Victorious, explained the group's mission.
“We are a group of men, talking to
men about men who like men,” the 19-year-old Canadian actor said.
“And how men should be OK with your man friends liking men.”
“It doesn't make you any less of a
man or make it look like you're into men if you're friends with a man
who likes men.”
“And men don't let other men
disrespect men, man.”
“So, if you're a real man, man up and
stand up for your man friends who like men,” Jogia added in the
43-second video ad. (The video is embedded in the right panel of

Jogia's
Victorious co-star
Matt Bennett and The
Kids Are All Right's
Josh Hutcherson have previously recorded videos.
