The second season of all-gay cabler
Logo's The A List: New York returns on July 25 with
actor-model Reichen Lehmkuhl in tow.
Lehmkuhl condescendingly dismissed the
all-gay spinoff of Bravo's The Real Housewives of Atlanta before
the first season aired.
“I
wouldn't do a show about being kept or keeping anyone, or would
Rodiney,” he
sneered in response to a Gawker.com posting reporting that he and
current beau Rodiney Santiago had joined the cast of the docu-reality
series.
After
the first season aired, Lehmkuhl suggested he wouldn't return for a
second season.
“I
don't know,” he
to told gay weekly PrideSource. “I think that there are
definitely some regrets.”
“Had
I known it was going to be so negative,” he said of premiering his
song Up to the Sky on
the show, “I wouldn't have done any of that on camera. I would've
kept it as a very private part of my life and just released a song on
my own, because now a lot of people won't even download the song.
They're judging it based on what they saw on the TV show.”
Lehmkuhl and former
partner Chip Arndt won CBS's Amazing Race in 2003. He also
appeared in all-gay cabler here!'s supernatural drama Dante's
Cove.
Joining
the original cast this season is Nyasha Zimucha, a former beauty
queen, recording artist and CEO of Embrace Your Hair, a hair and wig
accessories company.
“Nyasha
is out to prove the A-List
is far from a 'boys only' club,” Logo said in a statement. “You
can be sure she'll school the boys on a thing or two as she stops at
nothing to make it big.”
