Estonian recording artist Kerli will
perform at this weekend's San Francisco Gay Pride Parade and
Festival.
The 24-year-old pop star will take to
the festival's main stage on Sunday, June 26.
It is the second Gay Pride event for
the Los Angeles-based Kerli this Pride season. She appeared at the
Detroit Motor City Pride on June 4th.
Kerli won an American Idol-style
competition at the age of 14. She released her freshman studio album
Love is Dead in 2008. The video for her single Army of
Love, which was filmed in her native Estonia, is embedded in the
right panel of this page. You
can download a remix of the track for free at SoundCloud.com. A
second album is scheduled for later this year.
This year's San Francisco Gay Pride
Parade will be helmed by author-activist
Chaz Bono, actress Olympia Dukakis and celebrity chef Yigit Pura,
star of cabler Bravo's Top
Chef: Just Desserts.
The annual parade, now in its 41st
year, is expected to attract hundreds of thousands of revelers as it
winds its way down Market Street to the Civic Center, site of the
annual festival.
