Ricky Martin's Sunday arrival in
Argentina has fueled speculation of a wedding for the artist.
Argentina last year became the first
country in Latin America to legalize gay marriage.
Last year, the 39-year-old pop singer
told CNN's Larry King that he would someday like to marry his
boyfriend Carlos Gonzales, preferably in the United States.
Martin, who is currently on tour to
promote his latest studio album Musica + Alma + Sexo (Music
+ Soul + Sex), tweeted to his more than 3 million followers that
he's in Argentina to film the video for FRIO, which
appears on Musica + Alma + Sexo.
The wedding rumor
was fueled in part by the singer's scheduled interview with Susana
Gimenez – often described as the Oprah Winfrey of Argentina –
with boyfriend and twin sons Mateo and Valentino in tow.
Several press
accounts have already debunked the rumor, noting that Martin and
Gonzales, who are both from Puerto Rico, a U.S. territory, are not
eligible to marry in Argentina, since neither is a resident.
In March, Martin
denied he's interested in getting married.
“In my house there is no talk of
marriage,” Martin told reporters at a news conference in Mexico.
“I'm not going to
get married, we are very happy as we are, we've been together three
years,” he added.
The former Menudo
star came
out gay in his 2010 memoir Me.
