Darren Criss and Chris Colfer of Glee
have edged out Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder of The Vampire
Diaries in a poll that asked readers to vote for the most
romantic TV couple.
Criss plays out-and-proud Dalton
Academy Warblers lead vocalist Blaine Anderson on the Fox musical
comedy. His character arrived in the show's second season, which
ends Tuesday.
Colfer, who plays McKinley High student
Kurt Hummel, was the show's first openly gay student, appearing in
its freshman season.
The couple began a romance during the
brief period of time Kurt attended the Dalton Academy and sang with
the Warblers.
The couple was matched up against The
Vampire Diaries' Elena Gilbert (played by Nina Dobrev) and Damon
Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) in an online poll published by
all-things-television website Spoiler
TV.
Readers narrowly gave the victory to
Klaine (Kurt and Blaine) over Delena (Damon and Elena) with a 7,523
to 7,307 vote.
Voting was marred by homophobic remarks
from a commenter who suggested that Kurt and Blaine were not “actual
men.” Moderators quickly removed the comments, but not before they
created controversy.
