Singer Ricky Martin has denied rumors that he's preparing to marry his boyfriend Carlos Gonzales in Spain.

During an appearance last week on Spain's El Programa de Ana Rosa, journalist Miguel Angel Nicolas said the couple was considering taking up residency in Spain, which would allow the Livin' la Vida Loca singer to legally marry Gonzales.

The couple cannot marry in Puerto Rico, a territory of the United States, because it is not legal. While five states and the District of Columbia have legalized gay marriage, federal law does not recognize such unions. Socialists in Spain legalized the institution in 2005.

β€œIn my house there is no talk of marriage,” Martin told reporters on Monday at a news conference in Mexico to promote his latest studio album Musica + Alma + Sexo (Music + Soul + Sex), the Spanish news agency EFE reported.

β€œI'm not going to get married, we are very happy as we are, we've been together three years,” Martin added.

The former Menudo star and father of twin boys Mateo and Valentino announced he's gay a year ago last week.
