Actress Amber Heard is the new
spokeswoman of fashion house GUESS, lesbian
entertainment website AfterEllen.com reported.
GUESS' creative director Pual Marciano
said Heard “embodies the essence of the true Guess girl with her
natural beauty and classic all-American good looks.”
Heard will be photographed by fashion
photographer Ellen Von Unwerth next month in Los Angeles.
“I've been a huge fan of Guess for a
long time and to be the new face of the Fall 2011 campaign is very
exciting,” the 24-year-old Heard said in a statement. “It was
such an amazing experience to have been able to work with some of the
most creative talents in the industry, such as Paul Marciano and
Ellen Von Unwerth, who have collaborated on some of the most iconic
campaigns in Guess history.”
The
actress publicly announced she's gay at a Gay & Lesbian
Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) event last year. She was
escorted to the event by her girlfriend of two years, photographer
Tasya van Ree.
Heard will appear as Johnny Depp's love
interest in the upcoming film The Rum Diary and
will play Playboy Club new hire Maureen in the NBC pilot Playboy.
