The anti-gay Westboro Baptist Church has threatened to protest the funeral of Elizabeth Taylor.

The legendary actress died Wednesday at the age of 79 in the Los Angeles hospital where she had been admitted two months earlier for treatment of congestive heart failure.

After the 1985 death of actor Rock Hudson from AIDS complications at the age of 59, Taylor became a leading advocate for AIDS research, raising millions for the non-profit amfAR, which she helped create.

“No RIP Elizabeth Taylor who spent her life in adultery and enabling proud fags. They cuss her in hell today. #Westboro will picket funeral!” Margie Phelps, daughter of the church's founder, Pastor Fred Phelps, tweeted on Wednesday.

The Topeka, Kansas-based church which coined the phrase “God hates fags” also protested the Raleigh, North Carolina funeral of Elizabeth Edwards, who died at the age of 61. Elizabeth Edwards broke with her ex-husband, former Senator John Edwards, to support the legalization of gay marriage.

Taylor's AIDS advocacy was lauded by singer Barry Manilow and fashion designer Kenneth Cole, board chair of amfAR, on Wednesday's Joy Behar Show.
