Chris Colfer, Adam Lambert and Neil
Patrick Harris have been ranked the top gay and bisexual male
celebrities.
The
annual list is compiled by gay male entertainment website
AfterElton.com.
“By highlighting which out gay and
bisexual men our readers most admire, we celebrate not just those
men, but how far the entire gay community has come,” the editors
wrote in announcing the results of their survey. “After all, it
wasn't so long ago that finding 50 out gay and bisexual men for a
list like this would have been pretty hard to do.”
“Actually, almost everyone on the
list could be called a gay rights activist, and not just because they
have all made the decision to be out. Rather, almost every man in
the top fifty is someone who has done something to further the cause
for gay equality.”
Taking the number 3 spot is actor Neil
Patrick Harris, who stars in the CBS comedy How I Met Your Mother.
Harris
and his partner, actor and celebrity chef David Burtka, recently
became gay dads.
Rocker Adam Lambert is ranked in the
number two spot.
Topping the list at number one is actor
Chris Colfer. Colfer plays Kurt Hummel, a gay student at McKinley
High on the Fox musical-comedy Glee.
