Actor Armie Hammer has a man-crush on
his J. Edgar co-star Leonardo DiCaprio.
Hammer and DiCaprio star in the
upcoming Clint Eastwood-directed film of the life of FBI director J.
Edgar Hoover. Filming for J. Edgar began last month in Los
Angeles.
DiCaprio is playing the lead role in
the movie, while Hammer, the 24-year-old co-star of The Social
Network, plays Clyde Tolson, Hoover's co-worker and alleged
lover.
J.
Edgar
screenwriter Dustin Lance Black has promised a “tender” kiss for
the men.
In
a brief videotaped interview on the Oscar's red carpet with
TheCheapPop.com's Jon Chattman, Hammer was asked if he had a
man-crush on DiCaprio.
“I got to say, it's hard to spend as
much time as I do with that guy and not develop a man-crush. He's an
incredible dude,” he said. (The video is embedded in the right
panel of this page.)
Hammer agreed that Pauly Shore and Andy
Gibb would be worse options than DiCaprio.
Earlier, Hammer
told reporters that he's ready for a “ton of kissing scenes” with
DiCaprio.
The film also stars Denis O'Hare (True
Blood), Josh Lucas (Glory Road), Ed Westwick (Gossip
Girl), Naomi Watts (King Kong) and Judi Dench (Casino
Royale).
