Singer Boy George has said he loves
that pop singer Lady Gaga supports gay rights.
Boy George, who is experiencing a
renaissance, recently
told The Hollywood Reporter that the gay community
appreciates Lady Gaga's love and agreed that her new gay anthem Born
This Way sounds as if it was influenced by Madonna.
“I applaud what she does,” Boy
George said. “I love the fact that she supports gay people. We
appreciate that love.”
The British singer said that he “loved”
Lady Gaga's arrival to the Grammys in an egg.
On her new single, Boy George said: “I
don't think Gaga has ever denied the Madonna influence. When I saw
her live last year, it was very Madonna. I think when you're a young
performer from this decade, those are your reference points. I don't
think she's ever denied that. And yes, there is a similarity between
the new song and Express Yourself, but I don't think it's
going to result in any kind of lawsuit.”
“Some artists wear their references
on their sleeves and others are more subtle about it,” he added.
“I don't think that's a bad thing.”
Boy
George also said that he believes rocker Adam Lambert's willingness
to be open about his sexuality is the result of a gay “daisy
chain.”
