Glee's Darren Criss and Modern
Family's Sofia Vergara are among the nominees for gay cabler
Logo's fourth annual NewNowNext Awards.
The awards show honors the “next big
things in TV, music, film, print and new media long before they hit
the mainstream.”
“Through its past discoveries, the
NewNowNext Awards has proven it's one step ahead of the hype by
calling out some of today's hottest pop culture phenomenon long
before they were on the mainstream radar,” producers said in a
press release.
Glee newcomer Darren Criss has
been nominated in the Brink of Fame: Actor category. Also nominated
are Andrew Garfield (Spider-Man), Donald Glover (Community),
Emma Stone (Spider-Man) and Roony Mara (The Girl with the
Dragon Tatto).
Three men and three women are vying in
the Cause You're Hot category. Nominated are actresses Amber Heard
(Zombieland), Archie Panjabi (The Good Wife) and Sofia
Vergara (Modern Family), rugby player Ben Cohen, and actors
Jess Williams (Grey's Anatomy) and Joe Manganiello (True
Blood).
In the Brink of Fame: Music Artist
category nominees are: Willow Smith, Oh Land, Sleigh Bells, Two Door
Cinema Club and Wynter Gordon.
Voting
on these and other categories begins Monday at LogoTV.com.
Winners will be announced in April.
