Several members of the touring West
Side Story cast have posed for the NOH8 Campaign.
The revival of West Side Story,
which won the 2010 Grammy for Best Musical Show Album, ended its
Broadway run on January 2.
While on tour in Los Angeles, several
cast members were photographed with their mouths duct taped and NOH8
written on one cheek to support the campaign.
Ali Ewoldt, who plays Maria in the
play, and Kyle Harris, who plays Tony, were photographed with their
hands clasped together.
Michelle Aravena, who plays Anita, and
more than 20 additional cast members also posed for the campaign.
The
NOH8 Campaign, which is helmed by photographer-activist Adam
Bouska and his partner Jeff Parshley, raises funds and awareness to
defeat Proposition 8, California's voter-approved gay marriage ban.
The
campaign received a huge boost last month when NCIS star
Pauley Perrette wore a strapless dress that featured the NOH8
Campaign's logo to the People's Choice Awards.
Famous faces involved in the NOH8
Campaign include: Tommy
Joe Ratliff, rocker Adam Lambert's bass guitarist, Isiah
Thomas, men's basketball coach of the Florida International
University Golden Panthers, and his son, Joshua Zeke Thomas,
actress Tori
Spelling and Cindy
McCain, wife of Arizona Senator John McCain, and their daughter
Meghan, a pro-gay Republican.
