The lesbian mom movie The Kids Are
All Right, one of its leading ladies, and gay actors Chris Colfer
and Jane Lynch won Golden Globes on Sunday.
Annette Bening won the Golden Globe
Award for her performance in The Kids Are All Right,
increasing the odds that she'll receive an Oscar nomination for her
role.
“I am very proud to be part of this
very special film about two women who are very deeply in love and
trying to keep their family together,” Bening said in accepting her
award.
Also nominated was Julianne Moore, who
plays Bening's wife in the film.
The Kids Are All Right won the
Golden Globe Award for best motion picture (in the comedy or musical
category.)
Lynch, who's part of a short list of
openly gay and married Hollywood actors, won her first Golden Globe
for her portrayal of sharp-tongued coach Sue Sylvester on the Fox
musical-comedy Glee.
Colfer won for his portrayal of gay
bullied student Kurt Hummel on Glee. He
dedicated his Golden Globe win to troubled gay teens.
