Natalie Portman, Mila
Kunis, Darren Criss and Annette Bening lead nominations for the
Gay & Lesbian Entertainment Critics (GALECA) awards.
Nominations for the
group's second annual Dorian Awards were announced on Wednesday.
The lesbian moms flick The Kids Are
All Right and Director Darren Aronofsky's much heralded thriller
Black Swan were nominated for film of the year along with I
Am Love, Toy Story 3 and
The Social Network.
Kunis stars opposite Portman in Black
Swan. Portman has been nominated in the Performance of the Year
category, while Kunis is up for the We're Wilde About You Rising Star
award.
Also competing in the rising star
category is Darren Criss, the 23-year-old recent Glee
acquisition.
Portman faces an uphill climb to win
performance of the year. She faces Annette Bening's Nic in The
Kids Are All Right along with Christian Bale (The Fighter),
Colin Firth (The King's Speech), James Franco (Howl),
and Lesley Manville (Animal Kingdom).
Movies competing in the LGBT-Themed
Film of the Year category are A Marine Story, Howl, I
Love You Phillip Morris, La Mission, The Kids Are All
Right and Undertow.
GALECA was formed in 2009 and its
40-or-so members review and write on film, television and pop
culture. Winners will be announced on Tuesday, January 18.
