Armie Hammer, the 24-year-old star of The Social Network, has confirmed he'll play opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in the upcoming biopic of FBI director J. Edgar Hoover.

Hammer talked up the role during an appearance on E!'s late night talk show Chelsea Lately.

“Next up, I'm playing Clyde Tolson in the J. Edgar Hoover story called J. Edgar,” Hammer told his host Chelsea Handler. “You know Clyde Tolson was sort of J. Edgar Hoover's right hand man slash confidant slash you know some people speculate lover ...”

“I don't know who that guy is, so I'm just going to assume that he was a big queen,” Handler responded. (The video is embedded in the right panel of this page.)

Hammer added that he was excited to be working with legendary director Clint Eastwood and DiCaprio, who'll play Hoover in the film.

The film is based on a script by Milk scribe Dustin Lance Black and is set to begin filming early next year.

Meanwhile, Project Runway celebrity judge Tim Gunn recently shared that he saw Hoover dressed in drag as Vivian Vance, who starred as Ethel Mertz in the television comedy I Love Lucy.
