Chick-Fil-A is feeling the heat after
endorsing an anti-gay marriage group.
Less
than 24 hours after gay website GoodAsYou.org blogged about the
chicken restaurant's sponsorship of a marriage seminar closely
associated with the anti-gay marriage group Pennsylvania Family
Institute, Chick-Fil-A's participation has been scrubbed off a
website promoting the one-day event.
“From FamilyLife comes a new video
guided event where couples have the opportunity to look at their
relationship in a whole new way,” the website promoting the event
says. “Weaving instruction from respected pastors and Bible
teachers together with compelling stories, humorous vignettes,
man-on-the-street interviews and more, The Art of Marriage
will help couples apply what the Bible teaches about marriage in a
powerful way. It's practical, funny and straight to the heart.”
Two Pennsylvania events to be held in
February are being sponsored by one of the state's most active
anti-gay marriage groups and, until Tuesday, presumably by
Chick-Fil-A.
An early afternoon tweet from the
Georgia-based restaurant chain raised more questions than it
answered: “For those seeing reports of a CFA sponsorship w/the Penn
Family Inst, we are looking into the issue and will provide a
response ASAP.”
