Gay dads Neil Patrick Harris and David
Burtka have been named Couple of the Year by gay entertainment
website GregInHollywood.com.
“Together for six years, they clearly
adore each other, which is evident in just about every photo you see
of these two actors,” Greg
Hernandez wrote in a blog post announcing the winning couple.
“Whether they know it or not, Neil
Patrick Harris and David Burtka are one of the most high-profile
examples of why same-sex marriage should be legal in every state in
America,” he added.
Harris, the star of CBS' How I Met
Your Mother, and Burtka, an actor-turned-chef, are involved in a
California domestic partnership.
The
pair welcomed twins Gideon Scott and Harper Grace, who were born via
a surrogate, on October 12.
During an appearance on ABC's daytime
talk show The Talk, Harris joked that the couple is ready to
drug the crying babies: “At this point, we are like whatever it
takes – a shot of whiskey, whatever – just stop fussing.”
