The Christian conservative group
American Family Association (AFA) has said it wants gay sex outlawed.
In a blog post published on the group's
website, Bryan Fischer, director of issue analysis at the AFA, wrote
that gay sex should be banned.
Fischer called for the prohibition
while commenting on the news that adult film star Derrick Burts, who
recently tested positive for HIV, is now advocating for mandatory
condom use in adult films.
“Homosexual sex should be just as
against the law as injection drug use is,” Fischer wrote. “They
represent the two leading modes of transmission for HIV/AIDS, and our
policy towards one should be the same as our policy towards the
other.”
Fischer goes on to argue that mandatory
condom use in porn films isn't enough.
“Now I see no reason why we should
stop here. After all, if unprotected gay sex is the problem, then
the problem is gay sex. Ultimately we need to get to appropriate
sanctions for the act itself.”
On World AIDS Day, December 1, Fischer
suggested allowing AIDS to run rampant, since it's only killing gay
and bisexual men.
The
Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) recently added the AFA to the same
list of hate groups as the Ku Klux Klan, the Nation of Islam and the
Aryan Nations for its opposition to gay rights.
Fischer rejected the designation,
arguing that “what the SPLC calls
'myths' about homosexuality turn out to be what neutral observers
call 'truths' about homosexuality.”
Fischer asserts that it's true that
“homosexuals controlled the Nazi Party and helped orchestrate the
Holocaust,” that “homosexuals molest children at far higher rates
than heterosexuals,” that “hate crime laws will lead to the
jailing of pastors who criticize homosexuality and the legalization
of practices like bestiality and necrophilia,” and that being gay
is a choice.
