Police in Australia came up empty after
raiding the home of a filmmaker for a copy of Director Bruce
LaBruce's gay zombie film LA Zombie, the AFP reported.
Australian censors banned the film from
screening at the Melbourne International Film Festival in July.
Filmmaker Richard Wolstencroft
nevertheless screened the film in September during the Melbourne
Underground Film Festival (MUFF), which he heads.
Police raided Wolstencroft's home on
Thursday in search of the film, but the filmmaker said the search was
pointless.
“Police searched for a copy of the
film, but we destroyed ours after the Melbourne Underground Film
Festival screening in September,” he told the news service.
L.A. Zombie stars French gay
porn star Francois Sagat as a schizophrenic gay zombie who believes
he can bring the dead back to life by having sex with them. The film
includes graphic scenes of bloody zombies having sexual intercourse.
Sagat, who can be seen under the same
name in numerous titles for gay porn studio Titan Media, stars
this year in Director Christopher Honore's Homme au Bain (Man
at Bath).
