Singer Ricky Martin says he's in love and wants the option to marry his partner in the U.S.

Martin is returnig to the spotlight after taking a break from his career to devote time to his twin boys, Valentino and Matteo.

The Livin' la Vida Loca singer, who came out gay on his website in March, is promoting his memoir Me!, which is also available in Spanish, and an upcoming studio album.

In an interview last week on the Oprah Winfrey Show, he told Winfrey that holding his sons in his arms gave him the courage to come out of the closet.

During an appearance on ABC's The View, an emotional Martin received a warm round of applause when he said he loved gay teens.

And he told celebrity glossy People that he's in love. “I'm in love,” Martin said, adding that the couple will go public “whenever he's ready.”

In a Tuesday night appearance on the CNN's Larry King Live, Martin said getting married is not on the table at the moment but that he wants the option to marry in the U.S.

“I want to have that option,” he said. “I don't want to be a second-class citizen anymore. I pay my taxes. Why can't I have that right?”

“We can go to Spain and get married,” Martin said. “We can go to Argentina and get married but why do we have to go somewhere else? Why can't I do it in my country where the laws are protecting me?”
