Figure skater John G. “Johnny” Weir
has denied claims he's moving to Los Angeles to become an “actress”
and confirmed that a second season of Be Good Johnny Weir is
in the works.
The 26-year-old made his remarks after
a performance at the Ice Theatre of New York.
When asked about his involvement in the
organization, Weir responded: “Ice Theatre it's New York.
Anything that is in New York, I like to keep it very much at home.
Because everyone is asking, 'You're going to move to L.A. and become
an actress or what's going on?' So I say, no, no, no I'm very much
East Coast. I love New York.” (The video is embedded in the right
panel of this page.)
Weir also confirmed that a second
season of his reality series Be Good Johnny Weir is in the
works, but added that it probably wouldn't air on Sundance.
The 3-time U.S. National Figure Skating
Champion with a knack for being flamboyant is expected to discuss
his personal life in his upcoming memoir Welcome To My World,
which is set for a January 11, 2011 release.
