The Kids Are All Right star Julianne Moore says she supports gay marriage and gay parenting.

In an interview with CNN, the 49-year-old actress who plays a lesbian mother in writer-director Lisa Cholodenko's The Kids Are All Right says she supports gay couples 100 percent.

“There are so many gay families -- so many two moms and two dads -- and very normal, very idiosyncratic, really regular American families happening all over the place,” Moore said. “The fact that this movie exists is really a way to recognize that. In my life and in my children's lives, gay families are just part of the fabric of their world. We know plenty of families with two moms and two dads, and you know, they're just the same as we are.”

In The Kids Are All Right, Moore stars opposite Annette Bening as a long-term lesbian couple whose family dynamics are altered in unexpected ways when their teenage children seek out their biological father.

The film arrives on DVD and Blue Ray on November 16.
