Dr. Brent Ridge and author Josh
Kilmer-Purcell, the gay couple starring in the reality series The
Fabulous Beekman Boys, will return for a second 10-episode
season, cabler Planet Green announced.
The reality series follows the city
couple as they create a self-sustaining organic farm in upstate New
York. Their creation is the new lifestyle brand called Beekman 1802,
which has produced an artisan cheese made from goat milk called
Blaak, several varieties of goat milk soap and heirloom seed
collections.
The couple will return next year along
with viewer favorites Farmer John and Polka Spot the llama.
“It's official – Polka Spot's 15
minutes of fame will continue in 2011,” Laura Michalchysyn,
president of Planet Green, said.
“Brent and Josh both possess huge,
endearing personalities that America is falling in love with,” she
added. “We can't wait for season two.”
The couple has said that their farming
neighbors accept them.
“We've had actual complete
acceptance,” Kilmer-Purcell told celebrity website Greg
In Hollywood. “A neighbor's a neighbor's a neighbor. You
don't have a conservative neighbor or a liberal neighbor. You have
someone who can help you when you need help and who you can help.”
The first season's finale will air on
Wednesday, August 11 at 9PM ET after an encore broadcast of the
series' first nine episodes.
