RuPaul, America's first drag queen
superstar, will be schooling real women on the high art of beauty in
a new reality series.
RuPaul's
Drag U premieres Monday on all-gay cabler Logo.
“Why should men have all the fun?”
a Logo press release says.
“And who says drag is just for drag queens?”
The reality series takes glamor into
the classroom. Each episode will take a class of three
beauty-starved, biological women and teach them the essential
elements of “sexiness, sass and spunk that have long been the
calling cards of every great drag queen.”
At orientation, the women's full drag
potential will be revealed as they are put through “The
Dragulator.”
Celebrity appearances on the show
include Kelly Osbourne, Meredith Baxter and Taylor Dayne, among
others.
RuPaul will play headmaster, while drag
icon Lady Bunny will serve as dean of drag.
Drag U is the second reality
series for RuPaul on Logo.
RuPaul's Drag Race, a show that
pits 9 men in a contest to become the next superstar drag queen,
premiered in 2009.
