GLAAD Media Award-winner ABC is
ordering up more gay dads!
On Monday, executives green lit a new
comedy show by Grey's Anatomy producer Mark Gordon that
includes a gay dad.
ABC has agreed to pick up the pilot for
It Takes a Village, a single-camera comedy written by Casey
Johnson and David Windsor (Greek) from ABC Studios, according
to the Hollywood Reporter.
Village is about the lives of a
former couple struggling to raise their teenage son after divorcing.
Both parents have moved on to new relationships, the father into an
openly gay coupling.
The show comes on the heels of the
success of Modern Family, an ABC comedy that includes a gay
couple who are raising their adopted daughter.
And viewers of ABC's Sunday night drama
Brothers & Sisters are eagerly
awaiting to see whether gay couple Kevin & Scotty become dads.
If that happens, the network could be playing host to three gay
couples raising kids by next season.
