BBC News anchor Jane Hill has outed
herself as lesbian.
In an interview released Tuesday in the
BBC's internal weekly publication Ariel, Hill opened up about
her relationship with her girlfriend, Sara. The couple have been
together about a year and live with their dog Mavis.
“Everyone has known for years that
Jane is gay,” a colleague said.
“She hasn't made a secret of it at
the BBC and although she had other girlfriends over the years, this
one seem to be the one.”
Hill, 40, co-anchors the BBC's News
Channel and has worked on many high-profile stories, including
Hurricane Katrina, 9/11 and the inauguration of Barack Obama. She
earned a degree in politics from the London University.
