Tim Gunn, the fashionista behind
Project Runway, is backing a new grassroots campaign that
seeks to win back gay marriage in California.
“Make it work,” Gunn says in a new
video for the Courage
Campaign.
Gunn, who doles out advice to aspiring
designers on Lifetime's fashion design reality television
show, says it takes hard work to succeed in the fashion industry and
it will take hard work to win back marriage equality in the Golden
State.
“If we are going to change the hearts
and minds of people throughout the state, it's going to take you and
me working for it,” Gunn, wearing a white knot, the new symbol of
gay equality, on the lapel of a slate gray suit coat, says in the new
video.
The creative force behind Liz
Clairborne Inc is teaming up with the gay rights group in its fight
to repeal California's gay marriage ban, Proposition 8.
“Get started right now,” Gunn
urges, “go to couragecampaign.org/makeitwork and sign the pledge to
repeal Prop 8. We're counting on each and every one of you to do
your part.”
And finishes with “Make it work!”
