American Idol runner-up Adam
Lambert says he's gay on the cover of Rolling Stone.
Lambert scored second to Kris Allen on
Fox's popular singing contest but the media's obsessive speculation
about his sexuality, at, some would say, Lambert's own prodding, has
thrust the twenty-seven-year-old into a dazzling spotlight.
“I'm proud of my sexuality. I
embrace it. It's just another part of me,” Lambert reportedly says
in the new interview.
“I don't think it should be a
surprise to anyone to hear I'm gay. I've been living in Los Angeles
for eight years as a gay man. I've been at clubs drunk making out
with somebody in the corner.”
And Lambert says his revelation of
Hollywood's worst-kept secret nearly came at the end of the reality
series.
“Right after the finale, I almost
started talking about it to the reporters, but I thought, 'I'm going
to wait for Rolling Stone, that will be cooler,'” he adds.
Lambert's coming out cover is expected
to hit newstands this week.
