Openly gay Massachusetts Congressman
Barney Frank was hard at work today when the roving TMZ.com
video team approached him to wish him a happy birthday.
At a Capital Hill bank of elevators,
TMZ asked if he had received any nice gifts.
“We're not allowed to accept gifts,”
Frank, who turns 69 today, joked.
The hard-working congressman currently
chairs the House Financial Services Committee, which oversees the
housing and banking industries. A position he's held since 2007.
Frank is one of only three openly gay
representatives in Congress. The other two are openly lesbian Tammy
Baldwin of Wisconsin and newly-elected Jared Polis of Colorado.
There are no openly gay senators.
Frank said birthday plans included a
romantic dinner with his 39-year-old boyfriend Jim Ready – guess
Alec Baldwin is not the only “cougay”!
