British race walker Tom Bosworth and his boyfriend got engaged on Monday during the Rio Olympics.

Bosworth posted an image of himself on Instagram proposing to Harry Dineley on Copacabana Beach.

“Could this week get any better?” Bosworth rhetorically asked in the photo's caption. “He said yes by the way!”

Bosworth came out gay last October during an appearance on the BBC's Victoria Derbyshire.

In the interview, Bosworth said that he had been out to his family and friends for a number of years and made a reference to his relationship with Dineley, saying that he had been in a “really happy relationship” for the last four-and-a-half years.

The Bosworth-Dineley engagement is the second same-sex proposal at the Rio Olympics. Out rugby player Isadora Cerullo got a proposal from her girlfriend, Marjorie Enya, at Deodoro Stadium.

In Rio, Bosworth finished sixth in the 20km event.
