GLAAD announced on Wednesday that it
will honor Hannah Hart at its upcoming GLAAD Gala San Francisco on
Thursday, September 8.
GLAAD will present Hart with the
group's Davidson/Valentini Award, which is presented to an LGBT media
professional who has made a significant difference in promoting
equality and acceptance of the LGBT community.
The 29-year-old Hart is best known for
starring in her YouTube series My Drunk Kitchen.
“With more than 2.5 million
subscribers on YouTube, Hannah is one of social media's most
influential LGBT voices, consistently using her platform to build
understanding and advance acceptance,” the group said in a
Facebook post.
Hart is also the author of My Drunk
Kitchen: A Guide to Eating, Drinking and Going With Your Gut,
which became a New York Times bestseller.
