Actor Tyler Posey, who is best known
for his portrayal of Scott McCall on MTV's supernatural series Teen
Wolf, on Saturday apologized for a video in which he appeared to
come out as gay.
The 24-year-old Posey recently shared a
video on Snapchat of himself on Gay Street in New York City's West
Village.
“This is me,” he said in
the video. “I am this and this is me. I've never felt more
alive. I'm gay!”
Posey, a strong supporter of LGBT
rights, is also known as a prankster on social media.
In a series of tweets, Posey explained
that he is not gay and apologized.
“I am a big proponent of love over
hate,” he messaged, “and standing together during divisive times.
[Part 2]: Although I'm not gay, I fully support the LGBTQ community.
This was a moment to reflect that. And everyone, I am truly sorry
to the people I've offended or lessened how big coming out is. I
just want to spread love in this world.”
