Michael Sam, the first openly gay
player to be drafted by the NFL, disagrees with Donald Trump's
assertion that he's a better friend to the LGBT community than
Hillary Clinton, his presumed Democratic rival for the White House.

Asked by TMZ.com to respond to Trump's
comments, Sam answered, “He's an asshole.”
“You want to vote for someone who has
LGBT rights, vote for Hillary,” he
added.
Trump in 2014 was asked to weigh in on
the controversy surrounding a televised kiss between Sam and his
then-boyfriend when he found out that he had been drafted by the St.
Louis Rams.
“I've heard many people – I'm not
even speaking for myself – who felt the display after he was chosen
was inappropriate,” Trump said on Fox and Friends. “And
whether or not it was, I don't know. It was certainly out there a
little bit. … He was really going at it. I haven't seen anything
like that in awhile. He was really going at it.”
Trump later added that he thought it
“great” that Sam was chosen. “I hope he does so well,” he
said.
