A lesbian couple and a gay couple share
kisses in a new ad touting Hillary Rodham Clinton's support for LGBT
rights.
The one-minute ad released Sunday cuts
between Clinton giving pro-LGBT speeches and several gay couples,
including shots of two men sharing a tender kiss and two young women
doing the same.
The kisses make the ad “radically
great,” according to Slate's
Mark Joseph Stern.
“[T]he ad would be unremarkable but
for one radical detail: It includes several lingering images of
same-sex couples kissing,” Stern wrote.
“Given the distressingly puritanical
rules that govern gay PDAs, it's both impressive and heartening that
Clinton includes gay kisses in her official campaign spots,” he
added.
The spot ends with Clinton pledging:
“I'm running for president to stand up for the fundamental rights
of LGBT Americans and all Americans. That's a promise.”
