Three people were killed and five
injured during an attack on Acapulco's La Reina Gay festival
on Sunday.
According to the AFP, an unknown number
of gunmen opened fire on the crowd.
The attack left three men aged 23 to 33
dead and sent five others to a private hospital for treatment.
Acapulco, a major seaport in the
Mexican state of Guerrero, is Mexico's largest resort city and
attracts many tourists. But Acapulco also has the highest homicide
rate of any city in Mexico.
A recent spike in violence near the
city has led authorities to suspend classes at some rural schools.
Security forces have also been installed at some schools.
It was unclear whether the attack was
motivated by anti-LGBT animus.
