Screenwriter Dustin Lance Black and
British Olympic diver Tom Daley have spoken out for the first time
about their recent engagement.
“The engagement is announced between
Tom, son of Robert and Debra Daley of Plymouth, and Lance, son of
Jeff Bisch of Philadelphia and Anne Bisch of Lake Providence,” an
announcement titled “Mr T.R. Daley and Mr D.L. Black” in the
Times of London's Birth, Marriages and Deaths section stated.
Daley, 21, who came out bisexual in a
2013 YouTube video, and Black, 41, started dating in the summer of
that year.
In an Instagram post, Daley thanked
well-wishers for their support.
“#HeSaidYes and then #IsaidYes.
Thanks for all the lovely messages!” Daley captioned a photo of the
couple's engagement rings positioned above the Times
announcement.
Black shared the same image, writing,
“Thank you so much for all of the kind words and well wishes.
Dreams come true. #IsaidYES then #HeSaidYes.”
