Comedian Margaret Cho has weighed in on
the controversy surrounding Kentucky county clerk Kim Davis.
Davis served five days in jail for
refusing to comply with the Supreme Court's summer ruling striking
down gay marriage bans in all 50 states. Davis has said that issuing
marriage licenses to gay and lesbian couples would violate her
conscience.
“She's so gross,” Cho said of Davis
in an interview with The
Hollywood Reporter.
“I don't understand – she acts like
she's some kind of freedom fighter, as if she deserves some sort of
accolade for not upholding the constitution and breaking the law,”
Cho said.

“It's really insulting to the heroic
people who have gone to prison for their beliefs,” she said of the
welcome she received from supporters – including Republican
presidential candidates Mike Huckabee and Ted Cruz – upon her
release from jail.
Cho has vowed to marry a gay couple at
every stop of her upcoming The PsyCHO Tour, which kicks off on
Thursday.
