Appearing Wednesday on Fox News,
Kentucky county clerk Kim Davis said that she would love her gay
children but not issue them marriage licenses.
This is the second interview for Davis
– her
first was Monday on Good
Morning America – who is fighting a court ruling ordering
her to issue marriage licenses to all qualified couples.
Davis has said that issuing marriage
licenses to gay and lesbian couples would violate her conscience.
“I would not write them a marriage
license, no way,” Davis
told Megyn Kelly.
“I would love them, because I love
all people, but I would not write them a marriage license,” she
added.
When Kelly asked Davis how she responds
to critics who call her a bigot, Davis answered that they don't know
her.
“That's people that don't know me. I
have love in my heart for everyone. Everyone has a soul, Megyn. And
that's what we're bound as Christians to love and to reach for.”
Davis added that she was prepared to
keep fighting “whatever the cost.”
