Model Amiyah Scott has joined the cast
of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, making her the first-ever
transgender woman to be featured on the Real Housewives
franchise.
According to Variety, Scott will
appear in the show's upcoming eighth season.
“[T]he capacity in which Scott will
appear is undetermined, as discussions have just begun,” Variety
reported. “[Bravo] has not made any decisions regarding Scott's
casting, whether she joins as a full-time Housewife, 'friend of the
housewives' or just appears in an even-smaller role.”
According to RealityTea.com,
Scott, 27, began transitioning at the age of 17. She is also a
makeup and beauty consultant.
TMZ.com reports that actress Kim Fields
(Facts of Life) will also join the cast.
