Singer-songwriter Betty Who recently
discussed being an LGBT ally.
The 23-year-old Australian gained
legions of fans two years ago when a flashmob marriage proposal in a
Home Depot aisle choreographed to her single Somebody Loves You
went viral.

Speaking with GLAAD: All Access host
Claire Pines, Betty recounted the story of a young lesbian telling
her that her music helped her get through a difficult time when she
was considering suicide.
“That was kind of one of the most
special and really touching and moving, striking moments for me,”
Betty said.
She added that being an LGBT ally was
“obvious” to her.
“The more shocking part about being
an ally is that more people weren't,” Betty said. “My household
was tolerant and accepting of everybody.”
