Former rugby star Ben Cohen recently
revealed that he would be okay if his daughters “turned out to be
gay.”
The openly straight Cohen, 36, retired
from rugby in 2011 and launched the StandUp Foundation to combat
homophobia and the bullying of LGBT teens. Cohen is particularly
interested in promoting greater acceptance in the world of sports.
“I would have no problem with that at
all,” he told GayStarNews.com.
“We've created an environment where
our kids can be open to talk about how they feel and home's a happy
place.”
“If my kids turned out to be gay, I
wouldn't have an issue with that at all, so long as they were happy
and they could talk to me about it,” he added.
Cohen and his wife Abbie are raising
twin 6-year-old daughters Harriette and Isabelle.
