Appearing on CNN, Republican
presidential hopeful Rick Santorum was asked whether he would accept
Caitlyn Jenner's endorsement.
Earlier this month, Jenner made her
debut on the cover of Vanity Fair, instantly making her
America's most recognizable transgender woman.
In a previous interview, Jenner
revealed that she was a Republican.
“Do you welcome [Jenner to the
Republican Party]?” host Erin Burnett asked.
“If Caitlyn Jenner wanted to endorse
me would I accept the endorsement, the answer is, if that's the way
she feels about my candidacy, sure,” Santorum
answered, adding that he's learned never to ask why someone is
voting for him.
“You accept their vote, but do you
accept her?” Burnett asked.
“My job as a human being is to treat
everybody with dignity and respect, period, stop, full stop. No
qualification to that,” he answered.
