Presidential candidate Hillary Rodham
Clinton is hoping history is made during Gay Pride month.
In a tweet released Monday, Clinton
wished followers a Happy Pride Month, then added, “Hoping this June
is one for the history books.”
The Supreme Court is expected this
month to hand down a ruling in a case challenging gay marriage bans
in four states. The decision could strike down the nation's
remaining 13 bans, which would lead to nationwide marriage equality.
Clinton is also celebrating Pride with
campaign merchandise.
Among the items featured in the Clinton
campaign Pride store are rainbow-colored stickers and buttons, a
t-shirt emblazoned with, “Yaaas, Hillary!” and another shirt that
quotes Clinton as secretary of state: “Gay rights are human
rights.” A Hillary Pride tank costs $30.
