Actress and author Tatum O'Neal has
come out bisexual.
In an interview with PEOPLE, O'Neal
says she has dated men and women.
“I like women,” she said. “I
definitely have been dating mostly women recently.”
“I'm not one or the other,” she
said of her sexuality.
“I think women are the most amazing
creatures on Earth. They're gentle, and also more intelligent than
the men that I've met recently. I don't have a steady right now,
but I look forward to it,” she added.
O'Neal separated from tennis star John
McEnroe in 1992 after six years of marriage. A lengthy custody
battle for their three children – Kevin, 29, Sean, 28 and Emily 24
– followed and they were divorced in 1994.
The 51-year-old O'Neil, the daughter of
actor Ryan O'Neal, is best known for winning an Academy Award for her
performance as Addie Loggins in Paper Moon opposite her father
at age 10. Other film credits include The Bad News Bears,
Nickelodeon and Little Darlings.
