Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton welcomed
his second child on Saturday.
According to the AP, Mia Alma was born
via surrogate. His daughter's name translates to “my soul” in
Spanish. “I'm cheesy like that,” he said of his daughter's name.
Hilton announced the birth of his
daughter on Instagram, captioning a photo of his hand holding one of
her tiny feet with, “It is with great pride and relief that I can
finally announce: I am a dad again!”
He welcomed his first child, Mario
Armando Lavandeira III, in 2013.
Hilton said that to protect the
surrogate's identity he kept the pregnancy a secret. Only his mother
and sister knew. Previous attempts, he said, were unsuccessful.
“I was starting to lose hope,”
Hilton said. “Getting pregnant is very hard, and every baby is a
blessing.”
“I'm excited for the two of them, so
they can have each other and my son can look after her. It's a real
family now,” he
said.
The openly gay Hilton added that he's
“open” to romance but his focus is on his children.
