Talk show host Kelly Ripa will be honored next month at the 26th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in New York City.

Ripa will receive the group's Excellence in Media Award, which is presented to “media professionals who have made a significant difference in promoting equality.”

CNN anchor Anderson Cooper will present the award to Ripa, GLAAD announced on Monday.

“For over a decade, Kelly Ripa has greeted millions of viewers with messages of acceptance and inclusion,” GLAAD President & CEO Sarah Kate Ellis said in a statement. “By sharing inclusive stories with her audience and loudly voicing support for her LGBT friends and fans, Kelly is helping to drive acceptance forward.”

GLAAD will also honor MSNBC anchor Thomas Roberts at the May 9 event.
