Austrian singer Conchita Wurst says
that an important milestone in the gay rights movement will be
achieved when people stop talking about sexual orientation.
The Eurovision 2014 winner is currently
pitching her biography, Ich, Conchita (I Conchita). The
memoir is out now in German, with other languages to follow.
Wurst, who is known as the bearded drag
queen and whose real is Tom Neuwirth, has become an LGBT rights
advocate since winning Eurovision.
“The most important thing will be
when we actually stop talking about sexual orientation,” the
26-year-old Wurst
told told Newsbeat, a BBC blog.
“The moment we reach that point when
that is not important anymore, we've reached a big goal which is a
long way in front of us,” she added.
