Grammy-winning singer Sam Smith says
he'll never perform in Russia.
The openly gay Smith, who walked away
with four Grammy Awards on Sunday, told Rolling
Stone that he's appalled by Russia's treatment of the LGBT
community.

“I don't hate Russia, but I just will
never go to Russia,” Smith, 22, said ahead of Sunday's show.
“What they do to gay people there is
just disgusting and it makes me very angry.”
“I've even said, no matter how many
billions of pounds you could offer me, I just couldn't, which makes
me sad, because I have Russian fans. They contact me on Twitter. It
makes me sad,” he added.
In 2013, Russia approved laws
prohibiting so-called “homosexual propaganda” to minors and the
adoption of Russian children by couples who live in countries where
gays can marry.
